So I have re-rooted once (well kinda). Basically if you are not familiar with re-rooting let your boy jay tell you hows it's done. Basically if you do not like your dolls current hair color, length and or just want to customize her you re-root. To re-root you must cut the dolls hair, and then remove the head to remove the glue from inside her head. Its a long and painful task to do, but many people do it at least once.
So my only Robecca doll is my first Monster High re-root. Now to be honest I don't know what I am going to do with her. She usually has black and blue hair so something like that. Since I had Dead Tired Robecca she has that bad hair type usually Spectra has. So that is why I am cutting her hair off to re-root her. Plus Robecca is my second favorite Monster High character I mean look at her.. SHE A STEAM PUNK ROBOT.
So I will make sure to film a re-root video of my process to make her look good again. I honestly can't wait to do this hair job. It will look so good when I complete it!
Hey everyone, It is I, jay returning again for my third blog post. Today I will be going in to depth on why I didn't post so much last year. So as many of you may know, last year started the Monster High reboot. Many of us fans were so shocked that Monster high even was rebooting. It honestly hit our little community like a bomb. They changed the faces, animation, and quality in the once very detailed, and very collectible doll line went down dramatically. As a collector of Monster high going on three years, I have noticed a decline in quality to the dolls, and didn't see it getting worse. But of course I was wrong...VERY wrong.
We lost joints, detail and all in all the core inspiration of the line which was to be yourself. As the reboot hit the community many fans left. The closed their YouTube, Instagram and any other social medias that had to evolve Monster High. So as that happened we lost so many creative people in our doll community, that it was hard to create videos, especially if the community was dying slowly. Who would watch them? Who would help create new fresh ideas to inspire others? No one. So without a reason to post on my YouTube channel I became distant. I of course caved and bought the reboot dolls (even though me and my friend courtly jester basically started the #SaveMonsterHigh tag). I won't lie some new dolls have some great details, they just have the ugly new face.
Other then the reboot effecting my creative flow, I also just felt why been bother to post. So I am trying to slowly get back to post more often. Its hard, but I gotta do it if I want to get to my goals on YouTube. So I am going to try to post a few videos a week like I used to do. One will be uploaded tonight and a surprise music video tomorrow.
So just yesterday I posted my Over charged Frankie image, and it already got 300+ likes! Whaaaat!? It was such a hard photo to create. I actually need to get help from my brother to achieve the look. So to start the image off I had to take the base shot itself. Basically I will have to remove the entire background anyway, but for fun here is the mess that is the background.
I had to spray her hair down with some water so it would not look all crazy. It also would help shape her hair afterwards in Photoshop. After taking many pictures later (takes forever to get the right angle) I finally got it how I needed it, and now it is time to to edit her in Photoshop. Just in case you don't know what I am trying to copy I'll insert a picture below from the Monster High Electrified movie.
I won't spoil what happens in this scene, but let just say shes overcharged. So your probably wondering how I am going to pull this look off on a doll. One program can help me...Photoshop..a lot of Photoshop. So to start I must remove the background mess I created in order to take this picture. So I start by erasing very carefully around the doll making sure not to remove her hand or anything else. After I completely remove the background I add a solid color so she will be easy to use a PNG.
Now that the background is clear its time to make her glow honey. So I started with her earrings, then her tiara, then her weird lightning bolt yellow thing. I honestly don't know what to call that. Like what is that even useful for? Anyway off that rant, now it was time to make blue. Now this is when my brother jumped in. He didn't really tell me how he made her blue, but he did something right. After she was blue we aded the background, and BOOM! shes done!
Admit it she looks all creepy and overcharged. So that was how I did it. It was a lot of work, but I did it (with some help heh heh) Tell me what you think in the comments below. Also make sure to watch Electrified! It wasn't a bad movie to be honest, plus its out on digital as we speak, and DVD on the 28th. (Note Im not sponsored to say that I am just a fan who likes to push stuff on you guys ^.^)
Hello everyone, it's jay, and today I'd like to welcome you to my brand new blogger. (blog I guess we will call it because blogger sounds weird) To start off my first post I'd like to give you little more information about myself! Now I know in the past on YouTube I have made a Q&A, but I deleted it.... so lets start again here.
To start this off as some of you may know my name is jay. Jay as In in tenth letter of the alphabet, that jay. I am eighteen years old, and I am currently in college. That is kinda why I don't post that often, but that's another story for a different time. I am currently doing a AGS degree which basically means that I have no main major. Basically no labels to any what so ever degree. I honestly did not know what I wanted to do going into college since I was put in at the age of seventeen. If I would of had a year I probably could of looked into it, but I didn't. I am on my second year here at college, and My wonderful English teacher actually gave me the assignment to create a blog. I have had experience with a blog before, but it was lame so lets keep that in its closet.
I started my YouTube Zombiexcorn out of my love fr collection Monster High dolls. I wanted to create my channel to show everyone that boys can like/collect dolls if they want, because liking something different is what makes you unique. Everyday I get told that me liking dolls is stupid, a waste of time, life and money. But honestly I don't care what others have to say about me. It just rolls off me, and just makes them look like fools. But I have liked dolls since 2001. I was not like a normal boy, and I was okay with that. Me liking a plastic doll dose not defy me as less a man then then a average boy. To be honest me liking dolls really made me take time to understand and care for everything in this great big world. It helped me learn how to be compassionate towards others, and honestly I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Once my YouTube channel blew up I got to finally share my thoughts through my videos. Something I most totally could not do in my family. It helped me open up, become less shy, and meet amazing people. Now I am still shy off the computer, but I am not as shy as I once was before. College did help me get rid of some of my shyness, but its not completely gone. I know it will be gone very soon, I am making great progress.
So It think I have rambled on for quite enough, But I'll Be posting more on my new blog! A blog is like a diary/journal you can tell it anything, and it helps get rid of things on your mind. Plus I can share tips about film making and how- to tutorials for you guys. This is going to be so fun!
